3 months of Haven Isla Fay

On February 4th we celebrated 3 months of this wee beauty kickin’ it Earthside, and let me tell ya, this girl loves a good belly laugh! Honestly, is there any sweeter sound than that of a baby giggling? These past few weeks have been an experience of sheer delight. We now have an extremely alert and vocal little girl on our hands.

My love for this little gal knows no bounds. I feel very lucky that I get to be her mom and help her grow. But damn, does this child have an impressive poop velocity! She's a force… in more ways than one! This month, we go for a second hip ultrasound to see if she'll need a hip harness for a mild case of hip dysplasia. I'm nervous about the outcome, but I feel grateful that it was caught early. It may even correct itself on its own--or with the help of a brace--before it impacts her ability to walk later on.

To have a healthy child is everything, and I'm grateful we have access to medical care like this. In the meantime, it's easy to be joyful watching her develop into a little human each day. Her personality is starting to show, and I love seeing her older siblings interact with her, showing their softer sides. It's not always easy, but we're getting into a real groove over here as a busy family of five. But who knows? Next month may bring new challenges for our family. I try to enjoy the calm moments and laugh through the chaos. It's the only way when you're outnumbered like this, isn't it? Either way, Haven fits in perfectly, and I know without a doubt she was meant for us.
